Philippe Roche

Philippe Roche has studied singing at the Paris Conservatoire National de Région and at the Studio Baroque de Versailles with Rachel Yakar, Howard Crook, Y Repérant, S. Kuijken, JC Malgoire… Passionately fond of early music, he is a permanent member of several ensembles specialised in the medieval and renaissance repertoire (Diabolus in Musica, Doulce Mémoire, Daedalus, Jachet de Mantoue, Les Jardins de Courtoisie). As a baroque soloist, he has sung with La Symphonie du Marais, Le Parlement de Musique, La Grande Ecurie, Akadêmia, Opera Fuoco, Sagittarius, Le Poème Harmonique, Stradivaria,… works of composers including Charpentier, Lully, Buxtehude, Monteverdi, Schütz, Bach and Haendel. He has appeared in the most famous festivals and concert halls in France (Ambronay, la Chaise-Dieu, Beaune, Folles Journées de Nantes, Fontevraud, Opéra royal du Château de Versailles, Sablé …) and all over Europe and America (Utrecht and Bruges Early Music Festival, Prague Spring Festival, Bozar in Brussels, Festa da Musica in Lisbon, Boston Early Music Festival, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Music before 1800 in New York, Biblioteca Luis Angel in Bogota…). He has recorded more than sixty CDs.
